2017 RECAP: Weddings

2017 was a crazy year. It was my first year as a full-time photographer and I feel like my skills grew so much over the past 12 months. I got to travel to a lot of different places and when I look back, most of my weddings were outside of Dallas proper! From Austin to Waco to Fort Worth to California to New Hampshire, it was a wild ride (literally and figuratively) that I wouldn’t change for anything. I got to witness some of the most beautiful couples join their lives together and say “forever” in front of their friends and family. I got to document the weddings of dear friends and even my sister!

It’s easy to get dragged down in the day-to-day life of sitting behind a desk more than I photograph but when I step back and think about the huge responsbility I have, it’s pretty overwhelming and honoring. Your wedding photos are something you keep forever, something you look back on when times are good and when they’re bad. It’s the album you show your kids when they’re old enough. It’s what your grandchildren will love poring over when they’re just young teens in love. It’s the beginning of the legacy you’re building. How could I not take it seriously?

I’m so thankful to each of these couples (and the many more who aren’t featured!) who trusted me completely with the beginning of their marriage stories. Without further adieu, here they are!
