Southern France-inspired wedding editorial // Featured on JoyWed

I’m often asked why wedding pros do styled shoots. Brides can often feel misled when they see an amazing photo on Instagram, thinking it’s a real wedding, and then being disappointed to find out that not only was it a planned shoot but it’s something they could never afford. It’s a great question and honestly, there are a lot of reasons why people do styled shoots and it’s different for everyone.

For me, I’ve cut down A LOT on the number of styled shoots I do per year because I want to focus more on my real clients rather than creating portfolio images (that, let’s be honest, aren’t even in my portfolio right now). This particular shoot was a creative outlet after a difficult season when I desperately needed a refresh and to do something that felt challenging and yet inspirational. The inspiration came from my time spent in France, specifically my trip there last fall. If you know anything about me, you know I’m obsessed with French anything, particularly that laid-back, carefree style.

I got to work with a dream team of vendors on this shoot in May and it was featured in JoyWed just a few months ago.
